House breakings


How it can happen?
  • Forcing open windows, grills gates or doors
  • cutting padlocks, and grilles.
  • gaining entry through refuse chute, false ceiling or ventilation
  • gaining entry by using household tools left outside the house

Preventive measures
  • lock all doors and windows when leaving the home unattended, even for a short while
  • keep large sum of money in the bank and jeweleries in safe deposits.
  • do not hide keys outside the house
  • leave a light and radio on at night to give an impression that the occupants are home

Terrorism



Singapore have experienced one of their most vulnerable moment when there were reports on Singapore Changi Airport being a target be terrorist. Same goes for Yishun Mrt where terrorist wanted to place bombs on the vicinity.

As part of the Singapore Police force effort to tackle the problem , we encourage ALL to stay alert and report such suspicious activity to the police.

Brochures will be distributed to the nearest community centers and neighborhood police post.

Vandalism

There are reports of more crimes happening in the neighborhood. Specifically the growing number of vandalism. The crimes took placed in neighborhood car parks.

As part of the Neighborhood watch team, we have stepped up our efforts by doing regular patrol on the car parks. This is to ensure a safer place for residents and giving them the comfort of knowing that their neighborhood is safe.

Residents can do their part by not keeping their valuables unattended in their vehicle. valuables such as cash card and wallet should be safely kept to avoid break-ins.

Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime Campaign is an initiative by the Singapore Police Force to advise Singaporeans that they should be careful of their surroundings despite the fact that Crime rates have decreased.

In a recent Meet The People session, we have raised some concern on the crimes that have been happening in the vicinity. we would like to address the punishments/ fines for each of the following common crimes in the neighborhood that were addressed during the meeting.

Littering or spitting Fine of up to S$1000/-.
Mischief 3 months imprisonment, fine, or both.
Mischief by Fire 7 years imprisonment and liable to a fine.
Vandalism 3 years imprisonment or fine, and liable to
not less than 3 strokes of the cane.


Crime Prevention



The Neighbourhood watch team is a join initiative from the residents to decrease the number of crimes in our vicinity as there seem to be a rise in the number of crimes in our Neighbourhood. We will work closely with the neighbourhood police post.
